Cove Valley- Devon

Photos from a magical Autumn stay at Cove Valley. A cabin in the woods surrounded by woodland, nestled in amongst the trees. Cove Valley is a rewilding project in the heart of the Exe Valley, on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Devon. Within the 300-acre nature reserve there are three unique & luxurious cabins you can stay in. I stayed in the Chatan cabin which was utterly beautiful. The other two cabin retreats are called Hopi & Ukai, which are set into the surrounding landscape in the nature reserve. Each cabin is designed as luxurious accommodation for two with characterful interiors from HAM Interiors and an outside wood-fired bath where you can enjoy the surrounding landscape from the warmth of the bathtub watching the sunset and a peaceful evening under the stars. Find peace in the tranquility of the surrounding wilderness with just the sounds of the river, the deer, owls & birds, and I promise you, after your stay you will leave feeling completely relaxed & rejuvenated.

The beautiful Chatan Cabin which I stayed in, was set into the surrounding woodland at Cove Valley.

Such beautiful details everywhere you look at Cove Valley- with the cabin interiors, the exterior of the cabins, the hand-carved sign which welcomes you to the carpark at Cove Valley, and the fairytale hand-made woodland bird houses on the trees around the cabins.

The Chatan cabin was utterly beautiful inside, with interiors from Ham Interiors & the craftsmanship of the cabin build was exquisite too from With Bear Hands The most luxurious cabin in the woods experience you could imagine.

I particularly loved the veranda deck area which looked out into the valley canopy of the trees, and was the perfect spot to enjoy watching the sunset from the wood-fired bath tub.

Woodland views through the porthole window in the Chatan cabin bedroom.

The surrounding woodland.

The comfiest & cosiest cabin bedroom you can imagine. I opened up the bedroom window to enjoy listening to the birdsong & dawn chorus- so magical.

Getting cosy reading my book by the wood-burner in the sitting room in Chatan.

Inside & outside scenes at the Chatan Cabin at Cove Valley.

Beautiful interior details.

Evening golden hour light flooding the cabin interior.

Breakfast with a view of the treetops at Cove Valley.

What a wonderful time away from it all I had at Cove Valley. Such a magical experience being surrounded by trees, nature & wildlife.

I was able to go and explore the Ukai cabin too at Cove Valley with its beautiful setting surrounded by woodland and ferns. Another stunning interior by Ham Interiors and outside deck area looking down the valley, & just around the corner was the wood-fired bath tub- all idyllically beautiful.

Interior details at Ukai, Cove Valley.

Loved the deck area at Ukai where you could sit outside in the evening under the stars with the wood-burner to keep warm by.

Cosy bedroom scenes at Ukai.

Everything was so beautifully designed and considered in the cabins at Cove Valley. You instantly felt relaxed and able to wind down and enjoy the surroundings.

Ben & Yolanda kindly showed me round some of the 300 acre re-wilding project they are creating at Cove Valley. It was so inspiring to hear all their plans for the Wilding Cove-nature restoration project at Cove Valley. There are designated trails through the site where you can observe all the wild animals in their natural habitat. There are red deer, roe deer, foxes, badgers, owls, hares, goshawks, beavers & over 50 species of birds. I loved being able to see the dams the beavers had created in the waterways & to see Storm the Stag up on the hillside- such a magical experience.

There will be a Q & A with Ben & Yolanda coming soon where they will share a more detailed insight behind everything they have created at Cove Valley.

Thanks so much for having me to stay xx (press invite)
